Error while building Torque2d
by Tolen Nelson · in Torque 2D Beginner · 02/10/2013 (3:24 pm) · 5 replies
I open the Torque 2D source for VC++ 2010, go to release mode and build it but I get this error:
LINK : fatal error LNK1123: failure during conversion to COFF: file invalid or corrupt. Any ideas or help? Thanks.

I had the same problem, but eventually managed to get it to work in Visual Studio Express 2012: http://www.garagegames.com/community/forums/viewthread/133106

A simple google search OF the problem actually resulted in this thread, where someone uninformed of said irony stated a failed "google it..." which did nothing to resolve the problem for either Tolen, Chase, nor I.
Thank you Daniel Bekker, as this solved the problem. Updating to SP1 resulted in 0 failed.
Thank you also for participating in google, as it is answers like yours that create the power of search engines, not arrogant answers which try to tell others to use a search engine, as if they hadn't already done so. How often have I browsed for hours on multiple search engines to find only answers that tell me to use search engines...lol.

Ah, the untold irony that google is made up of actual solutions as opposed to people simply saying "google it..."A simple google search OF the problem actually resulted in this thread, where someone uninformed of said irony stated a failed "google it..." which did nothing to resolve the problem for either Tolen, Chase, nor I.
