Hi all,

My name is Mike and I am from Northeastern Pennsylvania. I have been interested in game development since I can remember. I have an associates degree in computer science / MCSE for Windows 2000 etc. etc. , sadly in my area there is very little work in the IT field so I am an electrician by day, gamer by night. I purchased torque eons ago, something 2002 and have followed it ever since though I have never really had the time to work with, my time was consumed with building a career, starting a family etc. etc.. Now my life has finally leveled off and I would like to spend my free time playing with Torque / Maya.

I am currently using an intel mac, Mac OSX v. 10.6.8, dual intel core i5 3.2ghz processors, 16 gig 1333 ddr3 ram. I am hoping this machine is good enough to play with everything I want to IE Torque and Maya.

My second question is when i login and download torque for mac in my "my products" page it gives me version 1.0.1. This version does not include any of the cool stuff on the start page like the new maps with water and such. Is it possible to upgrade this??? I have searched hi and low looking for a way to upgrade and can't seem to find it anywhere! Any insight or answers would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Mike Marsyada

Mac support is limited. Many of the features you see in Torque these days are for PC. The community has been asking for Mac support for what seems like eternity but finding enough programmers to work on the Mac code seems to be a bottle-neck.
Now that T3D has gone to the MIT license and has a steering committee to guide the improvements to the base code, the free source is open to programmers world wide. I think the point is to get as many hands on the code, to improve it, as possible.
Choices you have now are to code the engine to add the features or build the game on a PC to auto-include the features.
I personally vote for coding the mac features into the engine and submit your code changes to the steering committee.
