Torque3D (client-side) on Linux discussion

by Fyodor -bank- Osokin · in Torque 3D Professional · 10/20/2012 (4:28 pm) · 22 replies

This discussion is coming from GitHub's Required changes to the Torque3D to make it Linux-compatible thread.

First of all, this is about discussion on how to get Torque3D running with all functionality.
If you are not aware, the current version of Torque3D MIT (when taken from the development branch) is already Linux-friendly about running dedicated server for your game/project. See the original thread (link at top of this message) for details/changes.

Second, we are just talking about what should be done so you can run your game on Linux, so don't ask questions like "when it will be done" or "I want *such* feature", etc. Thanks :)

Hello Everyone. Is there any word on how the linux client is coming along? I'd offer to help but the last programming I did was quite some time ago. I'm looking forward to developing content using Torque 3D. I'm seriously hoping this port to Linux gets done for the development tools also. I'm currently developing with Blender and GIMP and running Torque 3D with Crossover Linux. It works with minor problems and having a linux native development platform would be great with Steam becoming to Linux.
