Tree shadow from transparent leaves mesh [resolved]

All quality levels set to normal, with a closely dense forest area, I'm getting artifacts that look like what might be a maximum number of overlapping shadows.

As the character moves, shadows pop in and out, and there sometimes is a circular area where no shadows appear.

Is there a way this can be avoided?

Did other edits and reloaded, the artifact went away.

That's an odd one. Can you post a copy of your sun settings? I am interested to see if it is a shadow fade or shadow distance issue. Could even be a log weight or overDarkFactor in the sunlight settings.
