Voice Packs

I've been kicking around the idea for "Voice Packs" for game developers.

I'm envisioning a generic character pack with a bunch of phrases developers and producers can use for their game. For example, one pack would be a shopkeeper. He would have about 50 or so phrases covering greetings, farewells, affirmatives, negatives, and various other things a shopkeeper might say during a transaction with a few miscellaneous bits thrown in for flavor ("Don't ye be lookin' at me daughter that way!"). This would work for any fantasy RPG (single player or MMO).

The concept can be extended to other RPG archetypes (cleric, town mayor, guard, hermit, etc). Then beyond that to FPS shooters (squad mates and enemies) and to RTS archetypes (workers, soldiers, wizards, etc).

The main upside is that these are ready-to-use packs (like scenery and building packs for 3D engines) that you can drop into your game. No script writing, no back and forth on the performance, just a ready-set pack that you can buy cheaper than hiring a voice talent for a specific job.

Now, you will need a specific talent for a narrator or any game-specific dialog ("We must away to the fiery summit of Mount Granaxus to save the good maiden Renaway."), but you can cover a good 80% or more of your game this way.

So, interested? Let me know. And let me know what packs you need. I haven't sorted out the pricing, but it'll be reasonable for what you're getting (royalty free and all that).

Ideally, what I would like is more characters to go along with this voice pack:

Affordable Audio Action RPG Characters

If you could add a couple additional characters with audio similar to this example, I would purchase it. I would really like additional females and/or additional vocoded sounds so that the voices sound more magical and/or otherworldly. Orcs or other evil sounding characters would also be appreciated. Some characters wouldn't need to speak English...

That's what I want anyways. I am sure that others own the aforementioned audio pack and would like an expansion as well.

I will look into those. It's a good check list of "prompts" for RPG PCs.

I can probably add on to those. I think my idea revolved more around NPCs than PCs, but I'm open to whatever the market desires.

On that note, has anyone written or seen a list of good RPG prompts/situations. The above link has a good list, but I want to cover all the common possibilities.
