Drew's Skins

by Drew · in ThinkTanks · 09/30/2003 (4:00 pm) · 26 replies

After my lackluster attempt at modding, (okay, I admit it; my mod can easily be described with some not so nice words) I have decided to move into the skinning world with Drew's Abstractionist Skins! They really work! Visit Drew's Bizzare Skin Shop today! I'm working on themed treads! Please let me know if you like any, for I can make light and heavy skins, too!
UPDATE: I finished the treads. Picture will be up soon.
UPDATE 2: Treads are up. So are brainjars, but those wont be pictured.
UPDATE 3: Okay, finally managed to get a different host. Look towarards the bottom of the screen for the links to the skins. Have fun!

I have decided to post here and spare you wondering where everyone is Kiddo lol

1) your image is broken
2) you can't see your website without signing up to .net or whatever, some member stuff
3) What did you say about the first two treads? If you have all seven they shouldn't flash.
4) What sort of not so nice words? lol

Asterisk, my skins are gathering dust on the school comp

"No, sorry kid, can't FTP today either, maybe tommorrow, or the week after that, or the year later, or maybe a millenia from now on a distant planet filled with tanks and brains..."

Could not open the page "http://www.geocities.com/dinosaurs_really_rock/Tank_Skins.html" because Safari couldn't connect to the server "www.geocities.com"

Any ideas Drew?

Ben(SA) - dinosaurs really rock?

Hey! Not bad, Kiddo. At least you have a site up. *Sigh*

Could you tell me how a geocities site works? (i.e. how much $, how you put your website up, can you just drag a html file in, etc.)

Asterisk

You should have done "Dinosaurs_Stone" lol

You can get a free domain, but it has adds. They have page wizards to help you do it. It's a sort of touch and go type thing. Dinosaurs_Stone? I don't think so. Remember: I can always make these for light or heavy, I just want to know what's interesting or what isn't.

Unveiling zebra and hot pink zebra skins! Let me know if interested, because I'm not putting them on my page until someone displays interest. You can preview them, though.

Not bad...not bad. Probably took about two minutes though. As a fellow skin maker, I can see that was ust a quick special effect that came with the program. Howver, Windy Point is AWESOME!!!

Drew! WOW! I am really impressed with Windy Point! I love the square size, it is just right. You used position grabber right? Makes it look really professional! I could have mistaken it for one of Bravetree's! The trees are placed very nicely, Windy Point looks just like one of the lush maps. Only thing is that you might try to have some slightly more coordinated pads (i.e. ones that go precisely from mountain to mountain) and to "fix" the reload a bit. Right now, in a light, you bump off the reload instead of going through. Dang, I have got to get cracking with Position Grabber. I need to keep up with you!

[begin rambling]

I wish you could edit the actual terrain, I would love to make a huge map that has mountain ranges, valleys, huge plains, giant peaks, hilly areas, and really big, sloping mountains. Right now I am picturing the true TankLand, with all three worlds arranged in a big triangle with mist in between. One HUGE map with three BIG maps the size of four regular ones, so more than twelve maps all together. I would ditch a time limit and rig up a scoring system based on exploration. I would have special check points, maybe like 100 or 200 of them, spread throughout the lands, and you just explored on and on, traveling all over. You would try to get as many checkpoints as you could before you had to go back to the real world. Just exploring. There would be special pads to hop you across from world to world. I would include -z-'s new powerups and another one to match speedy. There would be huge forests and rock-strewn fields and barren plains. The only things I would not have would be really deep trenches or really narrow ones, and no 89

Ty, *. I did sort of get a little overzelous with the boostpads. I'll try to fix the ammo gate problem. Like your idea for the big map. Just think of the races you could hold on that thing! Okay, ty for feedback from the rest of you. Last thing: I couldn't come up with a good name; I hit a creative block. Windy Point was the best out of my brainstorming. (I had a grand total of three names and couldn't think of any more.)

Wow. I like Himalayan Heights. Great. Since I had already uploaded the updated version of Windy Point, (which features the ammo reload gate on one side of the map) You can choose the name! There are exactly the same, except for the name. I'm starting to sound like Dr. Suess, so I'll just get on and post.

Okay, I've made a few more skins, this time for a light tank. Right now, the only one I have up is the blue lightening one, which took the longest, and is my personal favorite. I have others in storage, I just want to see if you guys like it. Let me know. I cannibolized the visitors page, so don't try looking for it anymore.... Go here!
