textures show up dark

Hello i am having some issues with textures showing up really dark and if i click glow they get a little brighter but still hard to make out. i'm sure there is somthing i am doing wrong but as of yet i havn't figured out what it is.....so i ask for help. the models are purchased from Dex soft so maybe some one also using there models are seeing simliar issues and have the answer. Thank you all in advance for your help.

so i didn't think it would be the textures them selfs so i opened one up and it looks like the transparcy is way up. you can barly see the textures in gimp. there TGA so i never really messed with them but it looks like i might need to contact Dex soft. Thanks for the quick reply Ron

which model pack and file name of that texture?

@ Shane, can you post any screenshots of your problem as its easier to help. Don't forget your sky settings can also dramatically affect your models appearance if you have altered them at all.

In the diffuse map of the material what is the color set to? Try setting it completely white, also try setting the minneart constant to 1.
