What happened?

I've been away for a little bit of time. I'm surprised that T3D hasn't really done much since I've been gone. I can't find any information on 1.3. For the most part, all I see from employees are announcements for community contests. Where's the beef? Is GarageGames on the way out, yet again? How is it that GarageGames could go from the premier indie game engine, to off the radar? Perhaps it is because GarageGames continues to insist on supporting more than one engine. If you do one game engine right, you will have more customers than you know what to do with. If you do multiple engines poorly, you will have zero customers. I don't want to sound too negative about what you guys are doing, but some of us spent well over $1000 for our license.

New owner(s), new company, new direction, new focus, more documentation, and no vaporware feature announcements.

After getting into the details of the TGE engine and comparing that to the details of the T3D engine, I am very impressed by the core technology improvements.

GG understands that community is key. They are actively improving the product AND the community. That is what the contests are all about.

Welcome back Dark Tengu.

Certainly not. Though I cannot talk about the details, the company is more stable than ever. Things are always shaky in the first year or two of an investment. We are past the shakiness now, which is going to allow us to move forward with our bigger plans.

As for Torque 3D, the people in IRC can probably tell you I am staying out of any announcements regarding it. I've become completely focused on iTorque 2D and Torque 2D, which I discuss frequently. I haven't posted any blogs, simply because I don't want to hype anything. That last statement shared amongst all the engines' developers. No more hyping what isn't finished in an official capacity.
