Please tell me what is the process to have a great game made with V12 to publish in retail box?

Step One: Make a great game.
Step Two: Go from there. :)

Seriously, you will need to get a publisher interested in your gmae. Selling ALOT of it through the garage games website is one way (to show that lots of people like it enough to pay). Releasing a demo is another way, and if you get alot of hugely positive feedback maybe you can interest a publisher. But it is going to take ALOT of sales, and/or ALOT of positive feedback to prove to a publisher that it is worth the risk to publish your game. Also, a healthier economy might be nice, seeing as how most companies are not quite as willing to take risks now.

I'm surprised so many people are concerned about getting their games out in retail boxes. I've worked on several commercial games and just about finished my first shareware game "Aerial Antics" which I hope to get published here with GG. The most satisfying thing about getting a game out in stores is boosting your ego. I remember the first game I got out in the stores, I went all over the place seeing who got it first, and how long it stayed in a prominent location and how long it took for the pricing to get cut etc and it was kind of cool in that respect. To be honest though because the market is so different you may barely make any sales at all by selling in stores. For one thing production costs go up, royalties come down, and then 90% of people in those stors will be comparing you to million dollar AAA titles.

THe thing sabout selling online with GG or someone like RealArtcade is that people will be actively seeking the kind of game your selling so potential sales are going to be a lot higher, production costs much lower and you will get higher royalties.

(I haven't sold a game online before but having worked on commercial titles and the indie title I'm within hours of finishing, I'm more concerned about marketing the thing online than retail). Retail will be a bonus that I don't have a HUGE amount of faith in as I never see anyone looking at the budget retail titles let alone buy them.

Just my 5 cents
