Looking for a good book on Terrain

I am looking for a good book on designing, creating, and texturing terrain.
We are using a third party program to assist in generating some of our terrain, and while reading up on the program I came across some very interesting tutorials and such, but I would actually like to dive deeper into the process.
Does anyone know of any good reads? I would like to learn a bit more of the theory, processes, tools, and terminology. I know no one book will never cover EVERYTHING but I am looking for a good jump-off point.
Let me know if you have any suggestions and thanks!

Additionally, search the interverse for articles on ROAM and other terrain rendering algorithms.

There are several good short articles spread throughout the Game Programming Gems series. Also, Focus On: 3D Terrain Programming is ok and it's short and to the point.Additionally, search the interverse for articles on ROAM and other terrain rendering algorithms.
