In Game Advertising..

I just wanted a quick question about ingame advertising.

Our team is currently designing a futuristic city map so i want lots of flashy ads e.t.c

The majority of these will be our own made up brands e.t.c but im curious is it possible to advertise garagegames ingame ?

Ive yet to fully read the license agreement. I imagine you need to show a garagegames logo on startup (which i intend on doing as well) but do i need to do anything special to advertise it ingame (Would simply be the garagegames logo rotating).

Jeff ? Others is this ok to do ?

I think the whole advertising of GG.com is up to you, I maybe wrong.

Personally I think everyone will advertis them anyway, kinda whole start and reason thing :-).

The last time I read the license agreement, there was no need for advertising that you used Torque, or GG.

(You haven't read the license agreement? Um... may I suggest something? If you are using a tool for development, in particular game engines, read the license and understand it completely. Sometimes the things that get sneaked in can put some stress on your product later when you release it. Read it first, then decide if it's appropriate for your application.)

Ian,

If there isn't a trademark(e.g garagegames/logo), advertising fee(probably not), copyright(e.g logo), or anything else like that i'd guess it'd be ok.

If your publishing via garagegames, then its *probably* ok.

GG might not want to be associated with a particlar GENRE, SUBJECT MATTER or POORLY IMPLEMENTED game.

NEVER put anyone elses Trademark or Copyrighted material in your work without there express written permission, even if you think you are doing them a favor.

Of course there are exceptions when comes to SATIRE and such but still be prepared for "legal discussions".
