FP, constructive ideas for TBL:

1. How about appointing a couple of assitant commissioners to assist with scheduling, stats, communication, etc.? They could also sub for you if the need arises, monitor the TBL thread, etc. It might be good to appoint someone who's only job is to take care of the webiste... it's gonna be quite an endeavor when this thing gets going. We need something like Loler's site, chat room and all.

2. Think we need to take some cues from the Scrum League and Psycho Scrum league experience. One of the main things is that I don't think teams of 5 will work. It might be better to plan for matches consisting of teams of 4 from a roster of 7-9 players per team. The scrum league has had a hell of a time getting solid teams to show up to games. I say we get rolling with 4 teams of 6-7 players asap. Also, I have a feeling that several of the players who have signed up over the last few weeks are vapor. As such, I think it would be better to start with 4 solid teams than 5 shaky teams. I could give up my captainship if need be.

3. I still think it would be neat for Joe to pick the teams... just adds an extra air of credibility to the league. I'm sure he'd get a kick out of it!

Take it or leave it, keep up the good work....

I agree with LC50 regarding number of teams and players per game.

Regrarding teams size, I would like to suggest four active players in each match with a fifth reserve. The reserve would serve as observer/coach. He could describe enemy despositon, movement, etc. He could/would switch with an active player on either a time schedule, at a point break (say every five points on upon demand. Reserves would be point neutral - i.e. no points (or a penalty) for killing a reserve and would remain as far from the center of action as possible. The observer reserve should add a strategic elememt to the tactical game.

How about mixed platforms? A battlemode comprised entirely of lights would simply be scrum without the ball.

The observer would get in the way, and become a target regardless of what happened. It would be nice if an observer or coach could watch the battle from above, but it simply wouldn't work as the game is currently designed. In the heat and fury of battle, an observer tank would be an additional target/distraction and would get in the way at some point.

I'm sure people will get around to using the heavies and mediums in team battlemode. When Dementus and I team up for a team battlemode, there is usually no stopping us. Actually, I'd love to face a team composed entirely of lights. Whatever team I captain, I'm definately shooting for a mixed team.

We also need to start a new thread for it once it is stated. This one is to goopey. Do'nt we have enough members yet?

In a Team Battle style league, you there should be a diverse force of at least the Heavies and Lights. Heavies to pin the opposition's forward movement and Lights to attack what are pinned.

Heavies will have to remember that it's the Team that wins not the individual as Heavies will be score less individually than the lights.

It would be pretty boring to have leagues and leagues of minis running and gunning...Scrum without the Scrum.
