How about this:

For the first game, teams meet at the game server. When the captains agree to start, everyone leaves the game, waits a few seconds to make sure the server is clear, then re-enters the game. The game begins immediately, i.e. come into the game guns blazing! None of this... "hold on! hold on!" stuff.... it's too hard to coordinate 10 people with itchy trigger fingers. Begin firing as soon as you're on the map.

The second game starts immediately after its reload.

If you have to take a bathroom break, tend to the baby, field questions about dirty socks from a mom or a wife--- just cliff dive or have a team member dispose of you until you can man your tank. Or, just choose not to respawn for a moment after you are killed. Yes, it's rude for the other team to shoot you while you're checking on the hockey score, but it's more rude to to expect 9 other people who want to play to delay the game's start just for you. I suggest emptyng your bladder, getting a smoke/toke, eating a doughnut, or whatever might distract you from the game over and done with by 5:55 PM Pacific. :)

I need FP and the other team captains to weigh in on the above protocol! If everyone approves, I then need the captains to pass the info to their team so that everyone is up to speed.

Other suggestions are welcome too.

Hockey, doughnuts, and tokes? You gotta be Canadian eheheh! And jeez, you wouldn't be referencing my bathroom break, would you? I certainly didn't hold that up as any type of serious defense for my team's loss. On the contrary, I thought it to be rather humorous. Y'know us Canadians like our beer, too.

The above protocol is fine with me and I'll pass it on to Team Cranium. I also think it's imperative that only team captains discuss controversy during gameplay. I thought everything turned quite nasty in our match, when you and I could have simply and cordially worked out a solution.

Following Dementus' lead, It's just a game! Let's have fun! I believe we are all working way too hard to justify who's right and/or wrong.

#346 LOL J, I'm not Canadian, although I envy the universal health care system. I've worked with several from the great white north, and know their passions, lol. Mmmm... trout.

It's hard for the captains to shout above the chatter (I was confused too)... so much to say, such quick text scrolling. And holding Ben back when he's chomping at the bit for fresh blood is like trying to bottle a force of nature :). I think team members need to start following the captain's lead a little more... i.e. defer to your captain when in doubt and cut the chatter in times of confusion.

Once we iron out how to begin the game, I'm sure everything will run smoothly....

BTW, Team Medulla needs to check their emails. I won't be around for next Sunday's match and need someone to fill in as the authority figure. For the most part, I'm gonna miss out on TT for a week or so... If Az is hosting the game, he would be a logical choice as captain.

#348 To LC50: your method is one of 2, and a good one. Sometimes akward however to have every1 out then in. Somehow we had trouble with this in Scrum leagues.

The other one, used in the Scrum leagues, is we determine that 'next game is on'.
So we all meet on the game server, chat and play for fun, until we reach a decent # of peeps, and then we all (or the captains) agree: NEXT GAME'S ON. This makes for a casual intro, since we hang out and stuff. But when the timer's on, NEXT GAME IS GAME ON!
This gives gives a 15 minute window to gather players and warm-up.

And, like you said, the second game starts... with the second game, after the first one!

#349 With ACA your team is up to... seven players. And what happened to Doomtank 101? He submitted himself for entry but he's been off the lists since the first draft. I know he'll be wondering so I'm anticipating his whining.

And can we please resolve how captains get new players? Seems like its been a fairly covert operation to me.

Team Frudian went through 7 players so far, none of which showed up for 3 games: Ghost, Phoenix, Doomtank 101, Jinx, NME, Cad c (sa) and gt; gt did showed up for one game but, to put it mildly, lacked a bit of team spirit and got kicked out.
FP has a list of new applicants that fill the no-showers. We are nearing the point where all players of a team are showing up; 5x5 makes for the best games.

#352 Sry guys about my showing then coming back for the lenght of almost the first game i was hacking to get in as my keyboard did lower case letters only then i got in slug told me go heavy then jangle said go light and my key board screwed up again. but anyways i think it was a fun game who cares if we lasot it was close bens improved since the summer and im really rusty so it was a hard time repealing him and lc90 your sniping skills are in the rise but watch your sides i blew you up a few time coming from the sides and dems shooting me hit you lol that was fun but that was a fun game and hopefully next time are teams meet it'll be the hardess and funn game in the the history of think tanks.

#353 I posted above that I can't make the times on Sunday. Move the games to Friday or Saturday or make them earlier and I'll be there. The time you set is for me 3am monday morning and I have to get up for work at 6am. I don't apprieciate it when someone marks me down for not showing when I already canceled the appointment.

#355 Hugo, I found Phoenix in CTF today and told him he was kicked out because he did not make any games. He said he was not emailed. I then told him we did not have his email. He said yes you DO! they emailed me to sya I was not supposed to come to any games. If this is true, why did we kick him out if we had his email to do this with???
