GG!

Hey FP there seems to maybe be a need for some sort of standard for starting the games off. We had some confusion in game 2. Is it possible to adopt a uniform way to start the game. Having each team circle at a appropriate "base" and one of the captains saying go at a mutually agreed to point with the other capt would suffice I guess.

Maturity, mutual respect, and general honor tend to work for psycho scrum. if you want to play by psycho rules, you play by psycho rules.

I surely hope you aren't suggesting there was a lack of this in the game.

FP: I sent some screenshots to LC50. Not sure who is providing the screenies, so I just take them and send them to him to use as he sees fit. Figured if lots of people were taking screens, we'd send them to the captain for him or her to decide the best to forward to you....

"In the game," no. Don't straw man me.
At the start of the 2nd game, yes. While things started civily enough at the start of the first, they did not for the 2nd. Do you disagree?

[aye ya know az, nonsense riles me :).]

Geez Tal lighten up has nothing to do Psycho anything really. BTW Playing by Battleleague rules by making sure your team knows that we play 2 games is a good place to start.FP quite plainly stated this above

Edit: No Tal i disagree. Once a game starts it's on for 2till the end in my mind unless some other prior formula is agreed to. You obviously had a teammate or two that didnt relog on immediately after the game. Why should we have to sit in or hands wondering if someone's comming back half way through the match? Also you were the one saying hurry up and start I have things to do prior to game 1 which I obliged.

Edit. Edit :) ok im laughing now Tal. I get riled too hehe. I know what your saying pal . i just wanna show up and play here...it aint my bag dad.

>At the start of the 2nd game, yes. While things started civily enough at the start of the first, they did not for the 2nd. Do you disagree?

I disagree, but I wasn't sitting in your tank. All I know is I logged back in to play the second round and it appeared to me the game was on after I looked around a bit. I was of the understanding the second game began immediately as well, although granted usually the server didn't drop connection but did an actual restart (so there was no need to log back in those times).

As for "civil" I'm not sure what you mean by that. If there was some kind of out of line trash talk or disrespect, then I didn't read it. I rarely pay attention to chatter while playing league games. If you are talking about something said at the end of the game, then I can only think you've mistaken something. I do remember you telling me "I'm not listening, Dementus" at one point and then leaving before I could reply that whatever the point quibble, it's FP's league and he'll be the final arbiter and some clarification may actually be needed... You talk about being civil and respectful, but it was you putting the virtual fingers in your ears and singing la la la la la. :)

I don't mind one way or the other about all of that -- gameplay is just that and I don't let myself pretend it reflects an actual person (except in certain special cases :) ). Personally, I'm in the league for fun, and I don't care what decision FP makes. I don't think the state of the world rests on our tanks... although maybe we should stop the wars and put our leaders into ThinkTanks instead. :)

Re: Team Cranium vs. Team Medulla match

Great match! I believe the disconnect threw us all off. Aside from Cowboy, all members of Team Cranium were aware it was a two game affair. It was simply the method and determination of restart that had us all miffed. No team likes the opposing team -especially one that is chatting with them and already up on points - to determine a game has actually begun. And being down a man doesn't justify it in my books. Once we iron this out - FP get on it! - there shouldn't be anymore problems.

I don't remember chatting when I came in. People were firing at each other, or so it seemed to me, so I began. Like we've said, the server dropout rather than just a game restart probably threw us all off.

I suppose the only true way to do it is to wait for everyone to enter, then say, "Leave and come back now" and then everyone does so and the fight immediately commences no matter who shows up or not. the second game restart is supposed to act that way, but if the server totally drops I suppose another "leave and enter" is in order. But we're never going to please everyone, because invariably someone is going to think we're waiting to long to do the restart bit.

And, I'm assuming everyone leaving and entering restarts the clock, because otherwise time's a wastin' while we figure out who is here and who is not and when should we blast each other. :)

IMO, a game should not be delayed AT ALL for missing or late team members to show.

As in last nights Medulla vs Cranium match: Az, Lc, Dementus, and myself are present for team Medulla and Tally, Jangles, Slugthog, and chanman are present for team Cranium in Az's pregame room. We sit around for about five minutes waiting for the fifth members of each team, Cowboy and Michael, to arrive. Cowboy appears and leaves. More waiting. He comes back just as slugthog leaves to look for him. Tally Ho blows up in exasperation, and Az restarts for the real game. Eventually, about five minutes into heated combat, Cowboy arrives. Team Medulla still lacks their fifth player. Cowboy is booted out to go jump in a heavy. Comes back, leaves again to switch to a light, and finally stays for the games finish. The game ends with Craniums win. Az restarts as indicated in the pregame room (was I the only one who heard that?) and a new game commences. Dementus, Az and Ben are in for Medulla at the first, and Tally Ho, jangles, and chanman for team Cranium. Dementus kills jangles, Az kills chanman, cowboy and slugthog arrives, and the second game is played to a close win by Medulla.

I think games should start at the game time, regardless of who is or isn't there. A late arriving teammate can just jump into the ongoing game. Also, games will commence as soon as there is one or more player of opposing team color.

Just my thoughts.

Yes I agree Ben. I will launch my server from the GUI from now on. This will reload the same map. That should end any disputes as too what you do to start the second game. I'm sure Cranium would agree as a large majority of the team are scrum league vets and thats the protocol there.

LC you follow what I'm saying? Does that make sense to you? Cranium?

Someone should keep track of win/loss records...

Team Cranium: 0/1
Team Medulla: 1/0
Team Synaptic: 1/0
Team Freudian: 0/1

Team Synaptic looking at this point as THE team to beat, having a team consisting of several killer light tanks, including FoulPlay, Clax, and Baklava.

Team Freudian is struggling, losing their first match to the promising Synaptic team, as well as having a lack of well rounded experienced players although they are combined from two older teams.

Team Medulla uses a well balanced light/heavy team, boasting LC50 and Dementus as their two mainstay heavies, and Azazel and Ben as their hit and run lights.

Team Cranium has a lot of promise, and now that cowboy is back on their team after quite a sabbatical, they could easily come back from their early defeat.
