Making my own sprites

Hello all, this is my first forum post.
I have created some animated sprites using MS Paint and Gimp. For a school project I am creating a 2d game and I would like to use my sprites. How do I upload them as resources? I have gone through the steps involved in creating a resources page (DeathCampArt) but cannot get my sprites to load, I get a non permissions error.
