Where to start on my scripts...

Ok I am working in the world editor competently now. I have Torsion installed and working. I am looking at the code that is automatically generated, and I really want to keep as much of it as I can, and want to make my things add in to the default game engine as much as possible. I also want to re-purpose existing objects as much as possible for my first demo game. So I guess my question is... Where do I start.

1. I want to make a monster spawner. I am not really groking how I make the existing monster spawner work. I would like to hook an over time script to the monster spawn scripts. Short of just trying it, would there be any problem with just pumping like 100 schedule commands at a monster spawn in the beginning of the level?

2. I want to make monster AI... The monster ai would be really simple at this point. Spawn, follow a path around, maybe respond to one or two other random states, and then eventually despawn if they haven't been destroyed. I think I understand how to do this, but if there was a tutorial somewhere

3. I want to clamp the existing player object to an axis and an extent. I have looked all over, I haven't seen anything like this, but I suspect it is possible.

I realize I am asking a lot. All I am looking for is links that are close to these types of functions. I am just hoping to avoid reinventing wheels. If it helps, I will trade artwork for tech support.

I could dive right in, and muck about with the game code, but I want to avoid doing that as much as possible...
