Questions about the new GG Art Packs

Hi, I've got both the new art packs (Soldier and Cheetah). Both are really excellent and nicely priced. I have some questions about the included .DAE files. First of all, how are these generated? I'm assuming these assets were built in 3DS Max. Did you simply export the .DAE files directly from Max or did you have to take a different route? Any specific settings that need to be used in this process. I haven't always had consistent results exporting to .DAE and getting them working correctly in T3D so I was curious. Any information on this is appreciated.

They were built in 3DS Max. We exported using Open COLLADA, with some minor tweaks to it. The only thing our version of the exporter supports that standard 3DSMax does not is visibility animation. This does not affect the Soldier and Cheetah, just the rifle. So you can use the standard COLLADA or Open COLLADA exporters for 3DS Max.

does "our version" means "garagegames's" own developed exporter version or Open COLLADA?

@muzaheed - It's a slightly modified Open COLLADA exporter. The animation we are referring to is the muzzle flash. It's a two part animation: on and off. It's triggered by the internal engine if the animation exists.

This has been around since TGE days, but Open COLLADA did not support visibility animation. So we added it in for a very specific feature that was requested for the one demo. It is not a requirement to use any of the art packs.
