Request to the Developer Cheeses

by Tally Ho · in ThinkTanks · 09/10/2003 (7:23 pm) · 24 replies

Greets Joe et al. I was wondering if you guys had a skin template you could release to us. I'm itching to paint my puppy, but I'm having a hard time with the fuzziness of the available jpegs and such.

mille grazie.

I am going to be spending today sorting through the hundreds of emails and hundreds of posts on the forums here. Very soon (next couple of days I hope) I will be making a post that addresses some of the issues raised in the last few weeks.

Joe, get in yer tank and come to fight on the Lush planet! You gotta see FP's maps, -Z- rides, wingman air fights and the rest! You'd see what monsters were realeased while you were basking in the sun.

Despite the changes there are many who still think that more is not necessarily better.

Yeah im a bit of the ol' Bauhaus school as well. Thats part of my love for Think Tanks.

I would however like to acknowlege the participation & contributions of FP,TD,Z,LC50 & everyone on CTF. Lots of great creativity from the community. Lots of fun just like scrum. I'm just a player..you guys really put in some work.

Here they are:

the medium

the heavy

If these don't make sense, I can make some labels for the parts. Be sure to add a few pixels overlap on your skins or you will get black lines on the edges of the model due to mip-mapping.

Lables might be helpful; the color coding is already very informative itself.

Pascal Bos and I were talking and we are thinking of doing a really informal 'skin' contest. Pascal and I would be the judges and the prize would be bragging rights. It would also be nice to get all the skins in one place for all to see. What do y'all think?

Featuring lots of keyboards, angry customers, clocks that say 4 am, and a sign on the back that says "wish i was back in the bahamas"

That is a good idea. I think that I can afford a shirt for the winner. So any ideas how we would go about doing this?

We need a place to post all the skins (a webpage) and a way to submit the skins. I could set something up but I would much prefer a volunteer to take care of the webwork.

The webpage needs to be one with decent bandwidth (no tripod or geocities)...

What is the weird diagram above, it looks like a skin but it is sort of different.

how do you use it, what do you do with that???

Can you enter multiple skins or just one?

And what exactly are the things that the judges will be deciding?

Btw, i think that having one every month if possible would be way cool.

there.
