Odd scroller issue

I have two scrollers I use for background that decide to disappear visually, they still exist logically after saving a few times. There is no error in the log about anything being missing. I have to re-add them and configure them again. They'll work for a while then disappear again eventually. Anyone got any ideas how to fix that? Might be a Windows 7 64 bit feature.
