Autodesk have no hold over 3d Max 7?

Considering 3ds Max 7 was under discreet's name before their acquisition Autodesk can't actually enforce anything on anybody using 3d Max 7?

As a FYI, Discreet was a division of Autodesk. 3DS Max has always been owned by Autodesk, the only difference is that the branding for the division it was under was different. As such your logic is pretty flawed and you should never put yourself or your project in a corner legally.

Cheers. I realised that after discussing several things with autodesk. Just had to make sure for myself. I have switched to blender and milkshape 3d (bought a license for it).
