Upgrading to T3D

I do have plans of upgrading my torque licence to T3D when I can afford it,
but in the meantime, I do have some observasitons I like to share.
I currently use TGE 1.4, and lately, now that I am on vacation, I have a lot of time to explore the engine, and play around with it to see what I can do.
As I play around with it, and compare it to the demo version of T3D, I find that I really like what I can do with it. Here is a breif list of what I found that I like between the two. (Remember though I am only using the demo version of T3D, while TGE, I am using the full licensed version.)

+ means I like this, - means it could be better, * no difference between the two products
TGE T3D
GUI - + (no longer do you have to copy folders, make changes to main.cs, disable keys)
World Editor + - ( I do like the checkerboard over the shiny silver plane)
Menu layout + - (TGE's are all at the top, T3D has some at the left edge)
WE choices - +
Editors - + (I'm referring to the Shape Editor, Road, River, Particle)
Although GG promises to make available a copy of TGEA when you purchase T3d, I question the benefits of such a decision.
Supposedly, T3D is a superior product over TGEA, and I guess the only thing that T3D has over TGEA is the included editors plus maybe a slightly different UI. (I have never used TGEA, so I am only guessing here), so what are the advantages of using TGEA over T3D if not for hobby purposes or just to prove you're a loyal GG customer.
And lastly SHADERS --- yeah, they been around. Are they really all that they are hyped up to be.
I wonder when was the Warzone demo created. This was done in TGE 1.4 to show off the engine, and it rocks. So if a game of this quality could be produced with TGE, what is all the hype about DX9 and SHADERS. Are they really all that important the DX9'ers make them out to be!

Actually, we're not. There was some confusion about this internally at the beginning of the year as we used to include TGE and TGEA with a T3D purchase. Unfortunately there's been a little mixed messagingThis was further exacerbated by a site bug that was granting them still anyway.
So long story short, TGE and TGEA are no longer included in a T3D purchase, they are still being granted due to a site bug and people should not expect those products to remain in their accounts when the issue is worked out.
