1. When changing tanks you are thrown into the server list screen and all the buttons are available (join,back,create,etc)
You can hear the music playing indicating a new game is loading.. thats the only way I knew I wasn't "hung up" and waited to enter. Not sure if you can do anything about it.. but might want to alert new people in your read me.
2. As soon as I change tanks while in game it changes my resolution to 800x600 for rest of game. This may be a Torque problem.
3. The timer is not accurate, it showed 3 minutes just seconds before the 30 second count down started.
4. Is there anyway to make the timer/fps persistant?
"thanks for the great tool!"

Tank Dork:
To answer your questions. First, its kinda hard to script for think tanks because the scripts have not been released, they are packaged .dso style. So, my scripts are usually alot cleaner and user-friendly (cause I have more to work with). That being said, answers to your questions:
(1)Ya, I know about this. There should be something I can do about it. I can load the connecting gui or something like that, to let the user know he IS connecting back to the server. For now, it is by design.
(2)Not sure. I didnt notice this because I play at 800x600. Ill look into it.
(3)Did the countdown timer start soon after you joined the server? I havent seen this problem. The timer was always accurate, and I played Think Tanks with it for a few hours. The format right now is in 100s, not 60s. So, a minute and a half would show: 1.5, not 1.3.
(4)Yes, I can add a hud to the play gui if you would like to always have it on your screen.
I will work on Version 1.1 of this script this week, and hopefully get it out by Friday night. Ill try to get all four of the above worked out.

First off, Im not sure if there is any difference with scripts run on pc vs mac. All the stuff I release will be for PC.Tank Dork:

I personally would like the hud up full time.. or have the option to do so. I have run several tests today while watching the clock.. seems to be pretty darn close. So you can disregard my #3 problem.
As far as the 800x600.. it does this anytime you shell out of the game (alt-enter).. it always returns at 800x600 until you go to a new game. So this may be a Torque issue.
Thanks for the great work!

IDN what the problem is Jason but i put the stuff in and it didn't make any difference. I have experimented with prefs.cs and none of my changes have any effect whatsoever. It is very depressing, i can't do anything whether it be completely removing the fog or changing the number of characters i can type in the dialogue box. No matter the game, scripts can always add something.
Look at Tribes 2. Came fully loaded. There are literally thousands of scripts for it.
I love mapping too. Im a jack-of-all-trades kinda fella.

I guess we like it simple.. and not too cluttered...
but then again look at the map frenzy...
I am not a scripter or a mapper.. so don't pay
too much attention to me
Thats right you are wingman..
I have seen you several times.
I'm an idiot.. I will delete my post =)

just MY 2 cents...

I still reject to the fact everyone thinks it's ok to tweak TT. if the developers wanted it in they would h*lla already put it in. If you want to make a game and have features of your own, go ahead. i just think it's very disrespectible to the developers to do this. I'm not trying to start a war, just play the darn game and if you don't like the features, go play or make another game.just MY 2 cents...

It is not that we don't already like the features, i love the game. But it is nice to have a break from the same kind of play all the time. Even the very best games can start to get old. Besides, the developers don't seem to mind us being "disrespectible" at all.just MY 2 cents...

Nit picking comment, the script shows errors when you launch a dedicated server:
"game/client/scripts/ExtraStuff.cs (0): Unable to find object: 'MoveMap' attempting to call function 'bind'"
Can it check if it is running on a dedicated server and not bind if it is?
-- lag man

I too appreciate the handy scripts. Doesn't really affect game play, it's just useful info and a needed feature. Dropping out and back in with a different tank/team is common. Making that quicker is superb feature. Nit picking comment, the script shows errors when you launch a dedicated server:

if (!($Server::Dedicated)) {
exec("game/client/scripts/ExtraStuff.cs");
}
-- even more laggy

Never mind. I figured it out. In main.cs use this:if (!($Server::Dedicated)) {
exec("game/client/scripts/ExtraStuff.cs");
}
-- even more laggy

Thanks Mark. I saw this tuesday night, and added this to version 1.1:if(!$Server::Dedicated)
exec("game/client/scripts/extraStuff.cs");
