You really need to figure out proper rates:
(Time Spent)*(Your Hourly wage)/(number of potential sales) = sweet sweet price range.
That will help you offset the cost of the development of this fine product. Plus it sounds like Asterisk is about ready to start printing up checks...
TO THE VARIOUS GG DEVELOPERS IN THIS THREAD:
Have you ever overbid a project because you wanted the inquiry to go away? Public school starts up again in a few days, and the need for FP's prices will wain...

I'm with Hugo. You are charging too little. This is a very niche market. Catering specifically to people who own ThinkTanks, don't have time to figure it out themselves, and have to be dumb as a box of hair. This market is not as large as it would seem. Considering this, your sales numbers are going to be low. If say 10 people buy it @ $20 you've only made $200. This is hardly enough to cover the time and effort that went into researching and uncovering the mystical secrets of TT map editing. You are working for pennies here. You really need to figure out proper rates:
(Time Spent)*(Your Hourly wage)/(number of potential sales) = sweet sweet price range.

Also, BraveTree changed the terrain file format slightly for TT. The Torque editor does not work for TT terrains. (There is a post by Clark somewhere about it.) Placing rocks and trees when you can't see the terrain isn't as easy as you portray it to be...

Just because you are doing it for the love of it, does'nt mean you don't deserve to get paid for it. Even artists have to eat.

If it's costs a grand, you should charge a grand! Why are you selling your self short? If you are giving email support, then that's even more time spent. Most 3d companies charge an arm and a leg for live support. Just because you are doing it for the love of it, does'nt mean you don't deserve to get paid for it. Even artists have to eat.

"OK dump it!" (sound of 10K Lbs of ice cubes being
dumped on this thread)
"Well that should chill them out a little"
By the way, any of you paying 20$ to FP I have a great
deal for you on some swamp land in Alaska and a slightly
used bridge in NY.

Actually, it's very easy. The current statics on the map can act as guides for object placement. The mission script carries all their coords. You can also run Think Tanks in the background as you edit so you can check your adjustments "near" real-time. You just have to reload the mission each time.

I'm with you guys though, GG should have an option to exclude product threads from the "Forum Threads" on the right. There is no reason that a product should be shunned by the GG community just because of it's growing community.
Where's Rick?

True, moving floating rocks isn't as hard as a text editor. Still hardly optimal though. It better be good.

And if you think anyone will pay 200$ for a bunch of hacking instructions, I am just letting you know that even I am not quite that stupid.
"Funny, I recall sakky saying he was 18, that he was a girl, and then that he was 17, 25, and 26 in the space of approxamitely 20 seconds. Hmmmm.... "
09/02/2003 (6:37 pm)
FP I am mailing the stupid 20$ tommorrow, just to see exactly what the instructions say. If it is anything less than what you imply, believe me there will be a new thread titled "Let's count the ways in which FP ripped me off"It better be good.

Torque Owner Very Interactive Person
Replacing textures isn't hard... but why would you want to do that? The real way to go is grab the Torque editor, make your own mission(.mis) and terrain (.ter) from scratch (read "edit a template map") and get it to work with whatever game you are playing.
Here's a good read for those of you who don't want to spend money:
