Huh?
How do we know you are really going to send us something?
And what do we get if the instructions don't work?
Bet it's not a refund.
FP i am going to wait until the developers start answering our questions.
20$ is not going to make you big bucks, FP, charging anything will make ppl suspicious. I would be happy to pay 20$ for instructions if i could be sure i would really get them. And you still haven't told me how hard it is, or how much experience you need. FP, if you are going to charge, no one is going to ask. You don't charge for your skins. I think i will go email nathan now.

$20 for info that is readily available? Ouch. I think most here would be happier with the actual editor, which will probably be free.

Wow, you're just up Main Street from me. :) $20 for info that is readily available? Ouch. I think most here would be happier with the actual editor, which will probably be free.

Besides, an actual editor would be even better than instructions.
FP we all should wait until the confounded developers start answering questions like will there ever be a map editor and whether they want hacking info public.
Just pointing out FP that if I knew what you did I would give it to anyone who emailed.
You are still going to get ppl pestering you for info now, If you make it public then you can just say "go look at the forums you annoying @$$hole" and then they will go look at the forums and stop pestering you. Tada!

FP you do realize that we might soon be able to get this info for free? ( yes you probably do and you are trying to make a few lousy twenties off ppl with too much money and too little time )Besides, an actual editor would be even better than instructions.

FP, i believe i am right in saying that part of the reason you are saying they won't release a map editor is because then you won't be able to make money off the ppl i descibed in my last post.

FP, are you sure i could figure out your instructions? I don't even know what .cs and .dso files are, and all my attempts so far to edit script haven't done anything at all except occaisionally crash the game.FP, i believe i am right in saying that part of the reason you are saying they won't release a map editor is because then you won't be able to make money off the ppl i descibed in my last post.

Guys.... just download the Torque demo.... and make your maps using that.... then just change the filenames etc to suit the structure of the game (I don't have it so I wouldn't know). The info is available on the GG site. All we see here on GG the latest time is "HACKING!!!" , "HOW DO I HACK??!??".... let me tell you... you don't "HACK" a level. You design one with the editor. I can't believe someone charges money for info that is available.

No offense because I dont know you well but I have seen better ways to con money out of people.

I find it funny that he's trying to charge MORE then what the game sells for. If it's anything more then editing the .mis files I'd be surprised.

Okay FP, 20$ isn't that much, but you better really have good instructions because if you don't believe me everyone will find out.*

This is beautiful free enterprise!
People asks: 'how do you do that' and expect you to give sweat work and 1000 words for free; ask them $20, they burn you at the stake.
My only feedback: it would have been more elegant to ask for a donation, and to say '$10 (or $20) suggested donation'.
'where is FP when you need him for a team scrum game?...'

I havent seen copyproof crap anywhere on that site. And if so its not real. Anyone can type (c).
You should have lawyers on your ass for ripping people off. Then you can have Bubba on your ass too. ;)

What lawyers? And for what? Hacking maps? Go ahead I have seen courts throw out stuff more important then that. Attempt to throw your "legal" boohas at me.I havent seen copyproof crap anywhere on that site. And if so its not real. Anyone can type (c).

If you want someone with some editing experience as well as a Lit degree and more to go over your manual, I'd be happy to do so. We can discuss fees for the service.
09/01/2003 (1:44 pm)
I hope your manual is better written than your forum posts and your website, FP. Misspellings, bad and lazy grammar, and more will at best make people question what they paid $20 for and at worst confuse them. Tossing off some instructions to make a quick buck is fine, but it won't make your customers happy in the long run. It'll likely lead to bad word of mouth and lost future sales. If you want someone with some editing experience as well as a Lit degree and more to go over your manual, I'd be happy to do so. We can discuss fees for the service.
