TGB / TGB Pro / iTorque2D

Hello everyone,

I have been looking at iTorque over the past few weeks with much enthusiasm, and I have finally bought a copy with the release of 1.4.1.

I'm completely new, and am going to work my way through the tutorials, but I do have some (newbie) questions:

1) I've only bought iTorque, but in the downloads section, there's TGB Pro which I can download. What does this do, as as far as I can see, there is a TGB in the iTorque directory. Which one shall I use?

2) I was looking at the Platformer Kit, which I also wanted to buy, but I've heard it may not work with iTorque. There are two versions - one for Torque X 2D and then another for TGB v1.5.0. Can I use any of these with iTorque, as I want to create platform games?

3) What's the best way of creating original 2D art? Do people use programs like CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator?

Thanks in advance - I'm very much looking forward to developing with iTorque, as it looks very exciting!

Anthony

TGB is the previous name for Torque 2D, which is also covered in the new FAQ in the docs with 1.4.1.

The Torque 2D downloads in your account is actually bug with the website. Previously owning T2D was required for iT2D, so there's something in the site still adding that download. The only download in there you need is iTorque 2D. The others will disappear when we fix that bug.

Torque 2D is our engine for Mac/Windows. It should not be included with iTorque any longer. I'll have to check with the web team to see why it is still including the download.
