Have yall seen this? HeroEngine/Herocloud

I don't know if anyone's seen this or not, but HeroEngine has just been released for free on HeroCloud. It has the same deal as most other's with a 30% cut from profits, but still they are offering the $300k engine for free now. I guess it was in response to BigWorld's indie version.

Really? Where? It costs almost $5000. All I see is the ability to make a free account to try out the tools. You can't make any permanent changes.

That was the old HeroCloud. The new HeroCloud allows you to do exactly the same thing, you are just limited to the amount of world space, developers, and the royalties are 30%. The $5000 is unlimited world space, 25 developers, and 15% royalties.

That's kind of strange. Their brochures from GDC have that info HeroCloud Basic on them but their site still does not. I see they have added a button for HeroCloud Basic now though. I wonder if their marketing is lagging behind the decision.

I believe they were hand picking a few people to start off with (being free and having to host servers for people it is kind of understandable). They are suppose to have some more information forthcoming as the service is released.

All you have to do is sign up for it. I'm already on there. This thing is freakin amazing!
