Illustrator/Concept Artist seeking Feedback, Critique, or even Employment!

Hi, My name's Dwight Benignus. I'm an amateur illustrator and I would be very grateful if anyone would like to critique my portfolio. I am still busy expanding my body of work and I understand I'll have to show some setting design as well. Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Currently I am focusing on the technical aspects of my work, so my pattern is to do two studies of other artists, copying the painting bit by bit, and then an original piece.

A great start but you need more original work rather than studies and reproductions. You obviously have the technical talent but now you need to throw out your creativity. Whatever you add though make sure it has a sense of completion to it.

What wowed me the most was your mixed media. The second sculpture looks very elemental like a furious ent. Get that sort of life in your own drawings and you could go far.

Thanks Andreas! I definitely feel there's a weakness in the original work part of my portfolio and I'll be working on this.

I'd like to recommend a very useful youtube channel that may help answer a lot of your questions about concept art/illustration work, portfolio creation, etc...
