Particle creation

I hate to ask silly questions and I fear it will be seeing as I haven't come across any other posts with this problem...
I am trying to create a new particle emitter in the latest beta of t3d, but whenever I move across to the particles tab, I can not save my new particle, now does the emitter change in real time, even if I modify an existing emitter.
Should I move across to the emitters tab, anything in the particles tab fails to save and does not appear in the particle drop down list of the emitters tab.
I've attempted to follow the documentation of creating a new emitter/particle and the task looks fundamentally easy, but either I am doing something wrong or there is a bug somewhere preventing this from working properly.
Any help would be appreciated.

That's right but they don't save anyway and certainly can't be found again if a save has been attempted.

But aside from that ramble, check to see if you (the user account on your computer) have write privileges for whatever directory you have Torque installed.

There was an old problem with creation and saving of new particle datablocks, but modifying and saving existing datablocks did work - pretty sure that got fixed though. A workaround I had at the time was to simply use a base particle system as a template, make wanted modifications, and then save. TBH, I don't even use the Particle Editor anymore and have reverted to manually creating my particle datablocks. But aside from that ramble, check to see if you (the user account on your computer) have write privileges for whatever directory you have Torque installed.
