THESE IMAGES ARE BROKEN. SCROLL DOWN. I HAVE FOUND A NEW HOST, AND THE NEW IMAGES ARE BELOW

Well, I've decided to make some really cool mods for winter levels. I'm not very far into the project, but here's a pic of how far I am. (The first 10 minutes.)
(sorry for the size, but it needs to be big to notice.)

Pretty cool, eh? Snow capped! It still will be awkward playing the levels till i'm finished though....

I'll have the files ready for download in a few-several days. lol.

Well, just made an update! Strange there's no posts here yet...
www.geocities.com/nathan_ttfs/screenshot_00002.jpgAs you can see, it's coming along nicely. Still gotta make the volcano white, and shoot snowballs, make a normal sky, and, does anyone know how to make the distant isles a different color? Or does it do that automaticly?
(Also, whats that yellowy part? Is that just the transisition between the white and red, or did someone bring their dog in there?)

If show image doesn't work, here's a link to my online project log. They are the same pics:
www.geocities.com/nathan_ttfs/onlineprojectlog1.html

If the link doesn't work, refresh 1-4 times. Then it will work. Also try the show image thing multiple times.
If they don't work there, lemme know. I'll give geocities crap.
(Also try the show image thing there. GEOCITIES SUCKS!!)

Copy and paste the link in your browser. Geocities is notorious for blocking external links. Nice work Nathan.

Sorry, nathan, still can't see your pics anywhere. Is geocities free or do you have to pay? Since you seem so riled up about the pics not working, i'd guess that you pay...

anyone want a specialized tank skin for mediums? I made a special promotionary ad for it, email me for the ad, license agreement, instructions, and skin pack. anickist2@yahoo.com is the company email addresss. My company, Tank Selection News® has just completed its latest project, fitting medium skins, called the HPD® skin pack. Free copies available by email, try it out, c'mon! In the shop are white and grey treads to go with FP's OSX skin pack, and a nice heavy skin. Get'um while they last! ( which is forever because i can copy it indefinitely )

Get a HPD® Skinpack today!

Tyler, you said nice work. Did you get to see the pics?

I think I got them working now, and Tyler, coping the link and pasting it into your browser does help.
Strange. Everytime I come to this thread, I can see the pics.
(And no, I didn't link to my hard drive.)

Keep trying people! I guarantee you'll enjoy it.
(And MAX, I liked the warzone mod you made!)

Nathan,

Yes, I did. It's a great start. :)

The only alternative for linking is for people to cut and paste the address. This is a normal problem with using the major free sites (Geocities, Lycos, etc) they don't like a draw on their bandwidth (images, high traffic, etc). The reason you are seeing the pics here is because the images are already cached in your browser from you looking at your page.

Max,

Your War Zone work is looking great as well. Reminds me of the old WW1 games.

Keep it up guys. Someone needs to make some psychedelic terrain now. :) Heh.

Well, the levels are really coming along! I'm gonna leave the black rock be, but I want to get rid of as much red as possible. Still gotta do the sky, the fog, and the volcano, but I want to get the ground textures done first. Here it is:
groups.msn.com/_Secure/0UADKAsYYaAKDim4GbHZJBRUJZKGlFMQ!LjtB3cg!mDd5E689poWu7rrnWJTv7iQbrvCW4NhslXxeZbbJjjA1*XybIijvjhESKHMjMScp7QzEIokPtq8Nf3SCGBkAcBgZ/screenshot_00003.jpg?dc=4675436055665239040Is that showing? Lemme know what you think.

August 25, almost midnight

Well, finally completed the ground textures, and the volcano! It is now white, and shoots snowballs! LOL. Exploding snowballs.... I'll get on that.
Anyway, here's an updated pic:

5 minutes after my last post....

Well, now I'm on a roll. It may take a while for me to make a sky, so I stole the one from lush for now.
Now I just need to make the lava rocks white, make the fog whitey or gray, depends which looks best. Heck, I may even make it blue to match the sky!

If I have time Ill search for the fog file Should be in the red terrain file . Put some snow on that ammo reload!!!!
PS Have you tried making water/ice?? Want some powerups with some snow on top and a nuke symbol on the side let me know.

Under the missions directory there are files with an .mis extension. Each file is a "grocery list" of mission design. Basically, it stores all the info for the mission/map with the exception of lighting and terrain.

**WARNING** - Always backup all your files before editing!

1. Make a backup copy of the file you are going to be editing and place it in a safe location.

2. Open the .mis with Notepad.

*Note* If given the prompt to, do not associate the file extension with Notepad. You will get this option if you just click on the file to open it and select Notepad from the program list. There is a checkbox on the same prompt titled Always use the selected program to open this kind of file. This should always be unchecked (default is checked).

3. The mission names you will find at the top.

new ScriptObject(MissionInfo) {
name = "Hypothalamus Hills";
};

4. Below that you will find new Sky(Sky) which holds the fog data.

5. Look for the line containing fogColor. The first 3 values are RGB (Red Green Blue). I'm not positive on the 4th value, thought it was either intensity or Black. Hopefully the Devs can chime in on it to confirm.

fogColor = "0.820000 0.828000 0.844000 1.000000";

6. Edit it how you like and then save it. Make sure you don't save it as a text file (.txt extension). Then you're done.

If you have other questions on the remaining data, let me know. I can list their meanings here to help with editing. Hope this helps. Have fun. :)

Foul Play, that is a great idea, the only problem is that those changes will effect all levels, not just my snow ones. So I don't think ill do that.

Tyler: You say make a backup copy of the file ill be editing. How the heck do I know which file to edit? I want to make the same fog on my snow levels (frantic ones) that the lush levels have. (White fog)
Can someone give me step by step info on this?

Thanks, Ron. :) I couldn't remember exactly what the last value was.

I will put together a quick jog through it (step by step) later tonight and post it then or tomorrow morning. Sorry I can't get to it sooner.
