Max and recommended poly count for DTS models?

Hey there, I just wanted to know the maximum and recommended poly count for DTS Models?

Kind of an open ended question. It would depend on your type of game. For example, let's just say your modeling a single building fly through with no NPCs or anything....well then you could go quite high in your poly count. If you want to recreate a battle with 1000's of orcs and 1000's of humans then you will be MUCH more limited in the number of polys per model. See my point? I would recommend this. Think about the type of game you are considering, then ask yourself what game out there is most like your idea? Google that game and see if the information is available. Other than that, you'd need to be way more specific about your plan.

Thanks so much for your reply! Yeah, I understand your point very well. I think I'm going for a game with an estimate of 20 models on screen at once at 1500 polys each. Also do you know how I could display my poly count on screen? Thanks a ton.
