Can torque 2D create a web game

Hello all,
I just found this exciting site and as I'm planning to write a web browser game can someone give me some answers please:
- if i write a simple 2D game can it be published on web server?
- if yes , does this engine support database connections?
- i suppose it's hard to predict, but for example if there are 100k users what hardware(server) should i buy

I would be very grateful if someone helps me with these questions
