Quick question about paths

I have been looking at the code for the latest HEAD update for torque and comparing its new features to some of those now in the upcoming Demo Build. I notice a strong difference between the way paths are handled between the two versions - particularly in the inclusion (or not) of a Quaternion rotation variable and smoothing in the getPathPosition function.
Since both code additions are recent I am curious to know, long term, which way you intend to go so that I can shape my own code base accordingly to make future updates easier.
