#22 Here we go with the skateboard bashing...(sigh). I'd like you all to know that even though I have a broken wrist, I still skateboard an average of 4-5 hours a day. We skaters are constantly getting harrassed by people for "destroying property" or "trespassing". Even though we have the best skatepark in Colorado and ranked 17th in the nation. In a town of only 12,000 people or so, we have built up quite the reputation. We are always being accused of doing drugs, stealing, destroying stuff, etc. I used to look down upon skateboarders, but then I gave it a chance, and got instantly hooked on it. Contrary of what I thought before, I have found that skateboarders are some of the most intellegent and wonderful people I will ever meet.

#32 As a 'retired' skater, I was very happy to see this thread turn to dicussions of skating (brings back memories). Until we release a fix to allow you to turn island hopping back on, I suggest that all of you that want to hone your extreme driving skill hop into some of the volcano maps and start trying to do some tricks on the sharp edges formations on the terrain. On the red maps, I was sucessfully able to perfect 'the cartwheel maneuver', where you jump over another tank while carwheeling, your weapon pointing down on your hapless prey. Death from above, there is no defense.

#37 Racer, that post was completely unecessary. You are beating a dead horse, Racer, and the owners don't like it.

#38 Meh, this thread is actually a pretty good one. I'm happy to see it back. I'll take this thread over some of the current useless banter that is currently flying high at the top of the list.

Also, Racer isn't necessarily the one who brought it back up the list. I saw it back up near the top in the wee morning hours before Racer's 8:58 post. Someone had else had posted, then deleted their post, bringing it back up to the top while adding nothing. I noticed because my post from August was the last on the list, and I know I didn't make it resurface.

So anyway, Island Hopping is missed. Sure you can load up a MOD and go exploring the various outlaying island. But where is the challenge in that? No, old fashioned hopping is a game of skill and finesse. Carefully lining things up, making sure not to hit the dang tree. The odd sense of cooperation to set the pad. Or the long line of heavies patently waiting for a ride on the spike. Ahh... good times... good times...

#39 There's only the one map, Cranium Crater, where the pads are aligned correctly, right?
Then there's the tactic of sinking into the clifface and letting it rocket you off to parts unknown. Works on a couple of frantics and all lushes if you know the right spot.

#40 As a relatively new gamer of TT (last few months or so) this is my first time on these forums (I go by ZEUS in the servers). A few demos have asked me about island hopping and I have no idea what that is. I mean, I know what it means to island hop, but how one goes about doing it I have no idea. Could someone kindly explain it to me? Thanks.
