Getting default animations to work with new model.

I have exported a model from milkshape to dts format to use in torque3d. I followed the guide in the book 3d game programming all in one to create the skeleton with the proper names for the joints so that it should work with the default dsq animations. I created the .cs file to map each sequence to the dsq files.
When my model is viewed in the shape editor the root pose looks fine but if I select any of the other animations the model just collapses in a pile.
I have uploaded a youtube video to demonstrate what is going on.
