@ Ronny: not so much in deeper technical details, so I was putting this here to read comments and understand if beyond the common "news emphasis" this could be something really viable or not... So, welcome all comments, enthusiast or not, it helps to get an idea :-)

The comment later on in the article that suggests that this arrangement of wrappers will actually be better and faster than native openGL on linux is quite entertaining.
If your looking for opinions, then i really truly cannot see a system that uses wrapper upon wrapper becoming a gaming system, this is a gimic at best without a real native port of directx (which is unlikely i'd think) then i dont think we will ever see cutting edge graphics gaming on linux.

The title itself is pretty much a lie, some parts of directx 10 working through another 3rd party wrapper to run games in wine is not what one would call native to the OS.The comment later on in the article that suggests that this arrangement of wrappers will actually be better and faster than native openGL on linux is quite entertaining.

A Wine port is a crap port, and this won't be any different. See all the crap EA games on Mac to see your Linux future. Would you want that? WOULD YOU? Every new game ported via Cider reveals a swarm of new bugs. It never seems to end.
