Un skilled players

by Cowboy · in ThinkTanks · 08/11/2003 (7:23 pm) · 15 replies

Is it just me or are there lots of unskilled players out there most of my games end with me wining by 5-10 or more(minus the games vs dan) and
very few players know how to dogde or any thing to day i started up a train room me and rob taught some new players some old and new tricks
i think these newbees learned enuff to stay alive a bit longer and are now a bit more of a challenge

i will be doing training rooms every once in a while some drop by help a new or learn something new

Cowboy, I applaud you.

Unlike other here who just make nasty comments about unskilled players, you are trying to help.

Way to go big guy.

Where have you been hiding Cowboy! I have been looking for some good competition lately but have been running into the same players.

We need to train them in the ways of old so that one day the student can be the master...

Good attitude Cowboy, Tank Dork. Providing occasional tips for the newbies is a good thing. Tips (rather than "nasty comments") probably keep them coming back for more TT. The more people keep TT going, the more DEMOS buy the game. The more they buy, the more attention we get from Joe. The more attention we get from Joe, the better updates we get. The more updates we get, the closer we are to Flamethrower Powerups, Vortex Powerups, and Shaving Cream Powerups.

On a fog free leval of mine when I was on an island: demo, "how do you fly?"

I try to help them out too, latel I normally always play #1 unless there are some good old-timers around. They'll learn, just like we all did.

I think we need more novice only servers. Thou I try not to play on a novice box, there's generally only one Team Battlemode server up and it's a novice server. I know that I've scared away a few demos and newbies before.

Here's an idea, we all tend to know who the players are. If we spot someone we don't really know, let's point them to the forums so that the newbies can be trained in the way of TT.

I need battlemode training. I'm really good at scrum but I can't battle for squat. Is there a scheduled time when you'll be doing these trainings? If anyone needs help with scrum, just let me know, I'll be happy to trade services.

I should sign up :), my skills have been greatly reduced ever since the 1.1 patch, never did really adapt to the new fireing scheme.

Ya that firing sheme messed alot of us up i remeber back in the day when almost no one could hit you in battle mode if you did the lightest
dodge now i've gotta do big dodges

but dan didn't you teach me battlemode? well gave me all the pointers that make me half good?

i'm shure a week of pratice with some reg team bm and you'll be back!
