Can't Create New Project

Trying to learn Torque after some attempts in the past. Downloaded the 3.1.5 trial and installed just fine, but when I open it and click Create, the file browser pops up wanting a Torque X project file.
I don't have a project file. That's why I clicked Create...
Something is screwed up, and I can't get anything started. Torque X 3D seems to open just fine, but I'm only interested in 2D.
Anyone know what's up, and how to fix this?
I'm running Vista 64bit
