It would be kind of cool if we could have a "Theme" ogg for our group level. I bet MarbleBlast could do that! Y'know load a specific ogg for a specific level. Maybe!

I don't think to hard Bob! But you don't want to convert MP3 to .ogg because the quality suffers too much. There must be a program that will convert AIFF files to ogg, but I don't know where to get it.It would be kind of cool if we could have a "Theme" ogg for our group level. I'm interested in this because the musician for the game I just released tells me that the ones I converted it from the .wma (or something like that) format to .ogg have the bass distorted.

Would .wav to .ogg screw up the quality? You could use Audacity for that. It's at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/index.php?lang=en .I'm interested in this because the musician for the game I just released tells me that the ones I converted it from the .wma (or something like that) format to .ogg have the bass distorted.

I only know that MP3 doesn't convert well because it's allready in compressed format. As far as I know .WAV is fine!
It may be that the bass was distorted! It depends on how much of an audiophile he is I suppose. .ogg isn't perfect, it's compressed too, but according to the Ogg/Vorbis website, it's better quality than MP3. I find that interesting.
Thank for the link.

This program is not just a file converter, it is a full editing suite, but does not record.

GoldWave (not free) does a wonderful job of this. It does convert from mp3 to ogg very nicely without any loss in quality. This program is not just a file converter, it is a full editing suite, but does not record.

http://www.dbpoweramp.com
The site has a bunch of downloadable codecs to do ripping, and sound file conversions. I've gone from .mp3 to .ogg without issues. Very cool stuff.

If you are looking only for a converter, I would go with a free converter. If you want good editing software, go with the goldwave.
Torque Owner Bob
How hard do you think it would be to create a ogg music file?
