"not while in transition" bug

I use mShapeInstance->getKeyframeCount(mActionAnimation.thread) to get the exact frame of an animation, but this is causing "TSThread::getKeyframeNumber: not while in transition" while running in debug, does any one know what "not while in transition" actually means?
