We are an European software house that offers a wide range of ICT services, mostly working with freelances.
This is our First important videogame project (purchased from our client) and we want to become a good videogame developer company.
So the team that we find now, if they make a good work, will continue to work with us in future for the next our projects and that of our clients.
We wish to hide our company data for privacy.
Our company data and website will be sent only via email to the interested freelances.
We need a small team to develope a full sport videogame for PC.
We need the availability from the end of this month.
The sport category is very simple how complexity (no soccer, no basket, no rugby, ...).
Our budget for the full game is (about) $8,000.
We are looking:
1 Experienced 3D Artist
1 Experienced Torque 3D Licensed Programmer
If possible we prefere to work with a ready team.
Some brief main data to understand the project complexity:
# 3D ARTIST
- design of a small sport center (high quality/resolution), it isn't a stadium. We send you the photo of the building.
- design of 3 human characters (high quality/resolution).
- a simple face morph to customize 2 of the 3 characters. We need only few options for each face zone: hair, eyes, ...
- to add about 30-50 people for the crowd in the sport center (low quality/resolution). To speed the work you can use non original models ready to buy, example: http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/Index.cfm/ID/275781.
- few animations (4 or 5) via motion capture (purchased from us).
- design of HUD, buttons, intro, ...
# PROGRAMMER
- game 1 human vs 1 human or 1 human vs 1 computer. Computer can play random or with some rule if you can. We don't need any kind of AI. When the First character play the Second character is in stand by, when the Second character play the First character is in stand by (like the boowling or the pool).
- there is a referee inside the game field that does only 2 actions.
- the physics engine have to calculate fine the data (like in many sports).
- sounds and voice (given by us) to add.
- game played with its official rules.
- infront camera to play and cinematic camera to see replay.
These are the main rules that we ask:
- Service made via contract sign. There will be a fine if you don't complete the game as agreed.
- We require your company birth document (if you are a company) or the passport/driver patent (if you are not a company).
- 2 updates for week from you to see the game status. To work better we will open a private forum to share the info, questions and updates. If we don't see the game updates (because you are not working) your work will be closed and you will not be paid.
- Max 5 months to develope the full game.
- Payments via bank transfer and/or paypal.
- When we send you a payment we need your commercial invoice (if you are a company) or the advance tax deduction (if you are not a company). About the Second one we can send you the standard document that we use in our State.
- 100% payment within 5 days from your delivery of game 100% completed and tested. Only if you are a company we can to plan a small % of payment in advance.

We don't own a Torque license, as said is the First videogame that we have to develope for PC.
For PC we have developed some demo (mostly FPS), but not with Torque.
As said our data will be given via email.
The people that receive our answer can confirm this.

Contract work is not the place for exercising an aura of mystery, less the mystery turn out to be,
"The Case Of the Missing Paycheck And Stolen IP" (A very aggravating plot, by the way).
How about you email me the 'data', then I could edit my posts to reflect a less suspicious attitude?

How do you expect to hook experienced freelancers, without them first being able to check into the "serious company" credentials? Contract work is not the place for exercising an aura of mystery, less the mystery turn out to be,
"The Case Of the Missing Paycheck And Stolen IP" (A very aggravating plot, by the way).
How about you email me the 'data', then I could edit my posts to reflect a less suspicious attitude?

I do not understand why you do not wish to share the information openly, because it makes this job seem much more promising and legitimate then the above Job Ad description.

Your credentials seem good. I do not understand why you do not wish to share the information openly, because it makes this job seem much more promising and legitimate then the above Job Ad description.

We wish to hide our data because we work mostly in outsourcing with other suppliers, but we sell and manage directly the services to our clients.
So our clients don't meet/know never the name of our suppliers.
And we don't wish that our clients know this our model business (otherwise could be more difficult to sell our services).
When we buy a service/software from a supplier, all the rights/copyright (when available) of use/own/develope have to go to us, as will be now for this game project.

Ah, fascinating concept. Sorta like a contract broker, or a subcontract broker. I actually can see the value of that type of service in the game development industry.

Otherwise - Caylo, enjoy the project! :)

So, in the process of the above posts, Caylo, did you take the project from GameNetCompany? If not, GameNetCompany... do you still need someone? If so, email your credentials to me (dave (.) calabrese (@) cerulean-games.com) and I will respond with the same.Otherwise - Caylo, enjoy the project! :)

Also quite abnormal (among other parts) is:
Just an observation from a longtime freelancer who have learned how NOT to get burned by contract work.
