Yet Another Thinktanks Fan Site

by Nathan · in ThinkTanks · 08/06/2003 (9:04 pm) · 14 replies

Well, seeing the other fansite, I decided to make my own. (I didn't take any artwork or ideas, so no worries there.)
It still has little detail, and has no contact link, so you can contact me at nathan_gibney@hotmail.com.

Well, here's the site:
www.geocities.com/nathan_ttfs/

Lemme know how it is, shoot ideas, whatever. Just check it out.

Sweet.. looks nice.. more in depth than mine.. I don't have that kind of time =)

Just in case you were wondering.. if you add
TARGET="_blank"

after your link (screenshot)it will open in a seperate window.. I chose to do it that way so you wouldn't accidently exit my site..
Some do it.. some don't. just a tip in case you hadn't thought of it.

I have added a link to your site on mine.

I would also suggest using javascript to have the screen shots open in a new window.

I am a web developer if you need help doing that.

Otherwise, I like your site. Very clean and simple.

Nice site Nathan, well done.

How do you take a screen snapshot with Mac? I tried command-shift-3 and -4 but it doesn't work.

Brain.

I don't have a mac, so I'm not sure.
But thanks for the comliments, and sooner or later, when I'm done the more important stuff, I'll get on those screenshots.

HugoBrain:

With Mac OS X, there are a couple ways to do it. One way is to purchase SnapZ X from Ambrosia. It allows you to take snaps inside games and record movies as well.

However, the freebie way is to do what I did:

1. Start ThinkTanks.
2. Click the Options button
3. At the top right in a checkbox for fullscreen. Uncheck it,
and Thinktanks will switch to Window mode
4. Once you're at a screen you wish to use CMD-SHIFT-3

OR

4. CMD-TAB to switch programs to the Finder.
5. Start Grab from your Utilities folder and use it to
make the snapshots.
6. Edit resulting snapshot with an editor like Graphic
Converter or Photoshop or whatever. (I used Photoshop
to crop the screen from the full screen that Grab
made).

Give it a try. It's easier than the steps may make it sound :)

ThinkTanks has a handy built in screengrab feature.

Ctrl-P on Windows
Command-P on the Mac.

It saves PNGs in your TT folder. Plus you can takes as many as you want and don't have to paste them in Photoshop.

Beware though, when you launch TT again, it starts the count over and will write over your old screenshots if you don't move them.

That's an easy little feature I'd like to see: Doesn't write over screen shots from previous TT sessions.

Quote:ThinkTanks has a handy built in screengrab feature.

Alt-P on Windows
Command-P on the Mac.

Command-P doesn't seem to work for me at all. Tried Control-P and Option-P also. I don't see any PNGs anywhere, even after doing a search (although I MIGHT have missed it in the massive list of files)...

Using Mac OS X 10.2.6

An in-game screen capture would be nicer than my workaround with Grab. Maybe that I can't screen capture is related to my texture dropout problem?

Opps, yeah it's Ctrl-P on Win.... now I will edit the post and pretend like I was never wrong... hehe...

As far as Macs, I've only heard rumors. You will have to to ask another Mac head what it is.
