Cruising through the forums, * spots Fp's note about his new speedway stuff. Deciding it sounds cool, * hops online to check it out. He selects the battlemode speedway and sees it crammed full of players he doesn't really know. Then he clicks on scrum, and wow! Look, Tankster, Tank Dork, Tally, Azazel... the whole crowd in one game, and the game even still has room!
Delighted with his good luck, * pops into the game.
"Hi everyone!"
Other player I didn't know named Navato or something: "Hey!"
"Oh, Hi."
[Short pause]
"Hello?"
Navato: "Hi!"
"Um, zaz, what's up?"
[pause, * watches zaz and tal and dorko zoom around]
"Azazel has left the game"
"J-man has joined the game"
[* thinking: Huh, what did I do? No one is talking to me, just playing around, and zaz just left.. Did I do something wrong]
"Uh, guys, did I commit some heinous crime I am unaware of here?"
[No reply]
"HELLO?!?!?"
[slightly frantic, thinking, 'Let's see, hmm, what could I have done to completely piss them all off?' ]
Navato: [again] "Hi!"
[* grows increasingly frantic, starts to feel sorry for himself because no one will talk to him at all]
"Umm.. Can you guys at least tell me what I did to piss you off?"
"J-man has left the game"
"Azazel has joined the game"
"Hey zaz! Hi! What's going on, why won't you all talk to me?"
[no reply, relief fading rapidly]
"Azazel...?" [in a theoretically quavering voice]

[* feels completely desolate, about to leave game and while away his troubles turning tanks into scrap metal]
