T3D 1.1 Beta 2 - Clouds not fogged - CONFIRMED
by Jeff Faust · in Torque 3D Professional · 08/11/2010 (7:29 pm) · 2 replies
Build: 1.1 Beta 2
Platform: Vista 32-bit, Windows 7 32-bit
Target: Visual Studio
Issues:
Neither BasicClouds or CloudLayer objects appear to take fog into account when rendering. This makes it difficult to make use of dynamic clouds in scenes with moderate to heavy fog settings.
Steps to Repeat:
- create a level with a SkyBox and fairly heavy fog settings.
- add Basic Clouds or a Cloud Layer to the scene.

The image above shows side-by-side views of a nearly identical scene. The view on the left was made using T3D 1.1 Beta 1. In that case the sky was done using the old Sky object which is no longer available in 1.1 Beta 2. The view on the right was made using T3D 1.1 Beta 2 using a SkyBox for the sky and BasicClouds for the clouds. Fog color is correctly applied to the clouds in the left view but not in the right view.
