T3D 1.1 Beta 2 - Terrain texture seams - LOGGED
by Guy Allard · in Torque 3D Professional · 08/06/2010 (8:55 am) · 5 replies
Build: 1.1 Beta 2 and earlier (FPS example as shipped)
Platform: Windows Vista 32 bit
Target: In game and editor
Issues: Seams appear on the terrain at the interface where two different terrain textures are being blended.

This has been reported previously, here and here and appears to be an issue that is specific to certain ATI radeon HD graphics cards. I am seeing this on a Radeon HD3200, and with all ati drivers up to and including the latest catalyst driver v10.7.
Steps to repeat
1) Launch T3D on a system using one of the relevant video cards.
2) Load a level with a terrain that contains more than 1 texture.
3) Look at the terrain.

I took a peek at your image there and my antivirus detected and blocked a virus ( I use Avast!) !! I figured you might want to know. The infected file was one of the ads on the page I'm pretty sure.

I saw some even more serious weirdness on my 5770 (terrain texture missing / placed in huge squares), but updating the drivers to the July version solved all the issues for me.

Not sure this is the same thing as Julian was seeing - I have seen this with every version of T3D, and with all drivers I've tried. I am using the very latest ati drivers.
