Where is a good place to find a 2D Artist for contact work?

by Philip Loyer · in Artist Corner · 08/05/2010 (3:24 pm) · 3 replies

Like a lot of people here I am doing this as a indie thing and I am a developer by trade but not a artist. I am looking for someone that I can pay $50-$100 for some art assets for the game I am working on, not a whole whole lot but maybe a 2 characters of similar design, a background or two. Couple of animations, title screen etc.

Could anyone give me some suggestions as where to look or who to talk to?

Thanks!

Phil

It depends on what type of 2D you want exactly. Here is a link to some images I just produced in a few minutes.

What I do is take my 3D models and render the images (if an animation, I render the animation images in batch) and then combine them to be a sprite sheet.

Here is a website I threw together in a few minutes with some prototype 2D sprite sheets I worked on today to prototype my own game.

I am currently still working on my animations, but I just started putting together 2D renders this week now that I have my 3D assets.

Thanks!
