Tank Specs Customization

Hello everyone,
I wonder if TT will eventually have a 'tank editor'.

In the pre-game screen when you choose which tank you want (L-M-H) you can see the Specs (Speed, Acceleration, Handling, Armor). It would be nice to be able to play with those (everyone could have their secret tank specs!)

Also to edit the tank texture could be fun. Say by importing up to 3 pictures (as in 'Choose GIF/JPEG from desktop) which would be applied to 3 different places in the tank (turret, hull, flag (tiny flags on the tank).

(Poor programmers! Enslaved for years to come by requested updates! But then a good game means good sales!)

That would work as long as the max anyone could set a certain stat was the same as anyone else could..
ie. Make your light tank a bit faster but it takes from your armor or your acceleration.. accelerate faster but loose some speed or armor.. all the while keeping the max number of allotable points the same across the board for everyone.

I have been finding the bot light tanks have an unfair advantage over my heavy tank. They move so far, and fire so rapidly, that my heavies lose in toe-to-toes more often than they prevail. I'd really like to see the armor/punch ratios tweaked some.

It would also sure be nice to have options for the game, such as "speed" and difficulty. I'd have more fun (in my newbyism) on a slightly slower game speed.

Hey tone, I've been playing heavy now for a few weeks. Light tanks are tough, but I can usually take one down (or at least leave it smoking) in a toe-to-toe. The exception are a few great light tank players like *cowboy*, Rogue, FoulPlay, etc. who can whip me most of the time. While playing a heavy you can't run and hide in the distance like the light tanks. Use the terrain carefully, don't get into "the mix", and keep your cool while you are getting pounded. The heavy tank's armor is tough... if you are accurate, you can outlast most of your opponents simply becuase of the armor. Keep practicing.

I like using heavy tanks but i only use it when i'm up against meduims or ohter heavy's. i find when it comes to a heavy v.s a light the light useully wins. i'm stiken with a light and where is dan macdonald on the list of great people in lights

I've had lots of trouble against lights in a meduim or heavy myself. You have to develop a good technique of staying low and out of the fray. If you go up against a light in an open field, they'll just zip around you like an annoying little bug. The trick I've used against lights like Ri(Bot) and others is to corner them against a rock, so it's difficult for them to maneuver away. Most likely they tend to concentrate on getting away, and all the while you can land some devestating shots, so before you know it- POP goes their brain case. I've also snuck up on them while engaging another player and landed some accurate shots that leave them smokin' before they get away.

I use a similar technique against heavies (usually while in a medium) like Hum. I go up and press my muzzle against their side, and as they try to slowly turn to face me, I keep maneuvering my tank to stay on their side, and take them out before I get hit too much.

I think all tanks have their pluses and minuses, as has been discussed in these forums ad infinitum. It's just a matter of learning how to use what you've got.

The main advantage a light has over a heavy is in the fact that the heavy is NOT so heavy....
All a light has to do is use its acceleration to keep "bumping" the heavy while pouring on the fire... the heavy cannot get grounded long enough to fire straight.

The second advantage is of course.. if all else fails.. the light can haul tail to the hills.

*Heads off to wash and wax his light tank*
