Lobby chat room

Would a chat room in the TT lobby be too much to ask? I may be a easier way to get games going.

Sometimes we lose time not knowing which server to go to for the next game (when we want to start a team game).
Also the game refresh should be every 5 seconds or even better in real time.

Yeah I'm all in favor of a lobby. Sometimes we lose time not knowing which server to go to for the next game (when we want to start a team game).

Planned for 1.2
Create a bat file for favorite games (auto drop to a server, no shell)
Customize key binds (with menu)
Assign hot keys to chat messages
Player appears more prominent on radar when they have the scrumball
Post-game chat
Team skins (will require everyone to upgrade)
Scrum icon by player names
health meter (will need playtesting)<--except that!!!.. ACK!!

If you read Joe's plan you will see that release 1.2 contains something of what you are wanting...Planned for 1.2

This is completely and totally off topic, but clax, you can edit typos by clicking on the little pencil and paper icon in the bar of your message that has the date and time. That will let you edit your message.*

Which is to say, what we need is a part of the front end of the application where players can assemble and that is accessible from within a game.
It should be possible to post a message from a game to, let's call it "The Brain Pool" for convenience. Occupants in The Brain Pool should be visible from within a game. That will allow players to _vamp_ in another game while awaiting team members or opponents for a sceduled encounter.
There should not be posting from The Brain Pool to a game, in order to limit spaming, but there is no reason to prohibit posting from a game to The Brain Pool.
Another helpful addition would be an tiny, very tiny, alert, not in the chat bar, in the form of -WeenTank wishes to enter this game- whenever a player polls a filled server.
And lastly, players in an active team game should have a "keep teams even" option which would cause the server to place the next player in the smaller team.

Good idea on the suggestion of entering a message when you want to come in. I have often wished there was some kind of feature like that.Ben(SA)

I would be a simple enough to build a FiFo queue. When a player queries a game dump his name at the end of the queue. If he is still in the lobby when a place becomes available dump him into the game. If he queries again later put him back at the end of the queue.
A queue of this nature would pretty much necessitate a _change teams_ function within the game else there wold be no way to balance an out of balance game without losing one's position.
I am opposed to a _change tanks from within the game_ feature. I'm one of those "dance with the guy what brung you" sorts. I also feel that it would completely unbalance the game. A most obvious optimal strategy in scrum is: run with the ball or chase as a light then camp and block the goal as a heavy. Very bad idea.
