13 Cemetery Dr. (Project Redeath)
The Crooked Hunter - Tom Willson:
- Opening Scene - Burden Memorial Highway - Crouched among the tall grass looking into the nearby woodlands, Tom Willson scours the area for the buck he noticed from the highway. The tall grass is great here, even good enough to cloak his truck from the cops if they should happen to fly by along Burden Memorial on their way into town. Tom prizes his luck along this highway almost as much as his Long Range Hunting Rifle. Suddenly there's movement coming from inside the bushes lining the trees. Tom raises his sight to target a hearty and strong looking 12 point buck. But as he's getting ready to squeeze the trigger, he notices the creature is out of breath and seems to be uncautiosly limping from the shrubbery. As he watches from the grass unsure of the situation, the buck turns around to face the forrest. To Tom's surprise, the ribs of the poor creature are clearly visible protruding from a fierce and bloody gouge along the creature's side. "Poor thing, must've been a bear." He takes aim to put the creature to rest. RRRR..rrrrrrrrr...RRRRRRR!!! Suddenly there's a commotion on the highway. An accident surely. SMASH! SMASH, CRASH, HOOOOONK!, BAM! Tom turns to see a family stationwagon hurling into the air in a plume of fire and thick, black smoke - BOOM!! Then, as the commotion seems to be ending, a constant blow of an airhorn speeds on by, followed by an enormous explosion. Tom looks up to see a giant, freshly cut tree trunk headed right in his very direction. "Poor thing," he mutters...

We see a rather messy and underkempt room. A bunch of computers and devices lay strewn about on a corner desk next to the sofa. As the camera pans down, focusing on the newspaper, book, and magazine laiden couch, we see a messy coffee table top and what appears to be a dog walk over to the side of the couch, crouching down to tend to its rough, dirty coat. An arm wearily strays from the slew of papers. A moan comes out as the scrawny looking nerdy guy that was just asleep among the mess peers his head out and grabs his glasses from among the trash on the coffee table. "What time is it...," he moans out, noticing the dog tending itself beside him, paying him no mind. He pats her head gently... ...as he notices a stain of blood on her coat. Just as he begins to have concern, her head turns in his direction, teeth bared amongst a deformed muzzle as she begins to growl...

The Mansion

A man wearing a cowboy hat bends over, pouring a fancy glass of whiskey. A quick glance at his face shows, this is a guy who loves his whiskey. He get's done pouring just long enough to lazily set the cap upon his flask when he catches the feint, first few drops of blood drip into his shot...
A rather hefty looking fellow, quite at bliss one moment, then, as if struck by shear terror, he seem to start to quicken his pace... But something just caught up with him as his expression worsens...
Someone wearing a purple wizards hat hurriedly paces their steps down a twisting staircase, when suddenly, a spurt of blood stains the wall directly from a slit in his neck as he slows then starts to tumble...
A man in full tux, probably a waiter, carries a tray of cocktails fresh from the double doors of the kitchen. Forgetting something, he pauses and turns around, only to see the inevitable headed direct for his eye... ...the double doors slam back, pounding ever so accurately upon the knife embedded in his skull, pushing it perfectly through the other side before he falls...
A couple, both in robin hood tights and princess costumes, reach the huge front doors, marking them with blood from the pounds of their palms... ...outside, a paired echo of muffled screams are heard...
Another man, dressed as a vampire, lies, skiddish, upon the rooftop, barely grasping the edge of the roof with a bloodied hand to hold himself as he reaches for a cellphone... ...the quickdial works, ironicly, and just as he get's a,"Hello?," from a girl on the other end... ...he manages to gurgle out a,"Heeuulllmp Meghe..," as we hear a typical,"Ugh! Pervert! -Click-," from the other end of the phone, just before he lies motionless...
We see a rocking chair, alone and empty, yet it rocks as a man's heard weeping...

It would great if you don't go that way and come up with something unique (the survival horror aspect I mean).
I look forward to hearing more about this project.
Will it be an interactive horror film perhaps? (note - this is not the same thing as survival horror)

Nice one Christopher. Well written and very intriguing. You seem to be crafting a huge adventure of some sort. The depth of story in this is very exciting to contemplate, though I suspect there is some sort of survival horror game coming out of this.It would great if you don't go that way and come up with something unique (the survival horror aspect I mean).

As close as I can get it! I've played many of the big horror titles and, honestly, I don't know how they can come off being a horror when I don't feel threatened playing the game. I suspect many horror fanatics feel just as let down. Thats why I've poured thought into making people jump with fear in this game. And I say people because it focuses on multiplayer scare tactics, where, for instance, a group of 10 players or so can walk into an area watching each other's backs and, out of nowhere, a player turns around and is face-to-face with something horrible.
I'll work this as best as I can, just as soon as I can get my computer back from the ones who are holding it for ransom from me. No joke.

I love the network play idea - never been done before - you could also turn it into a Spy V Spy game with traps meant to scare players to death :)
You could also have team play where some players are the ghosts / poltergeists / demons as well.
Anyway.... just a few ideas... keep us updated - when you get your computer back that it :(

Oh I have to disagree on one game, Silent Hill - freaks me out when I think about it - Silent Hill 4 is a bit spooky too.I love the network play idea - never been done before - you could also turn it into a Spy V Spy game with traps meant to scare players to death :)

Close. Currently, the game will be set up for 2 - 80 players, each player starting off as the last few remaining citizens of Burden County. When a player dies in the game, considering their death wasn't a severe wound (head missing, mainly), they get to come back, this time on the side of the zombies.
Just so everyone knows a little more about certain specifics:
- FPS-Based Surrealistic/Sci-Fi Multiplayer Horror Adventure
- Realistic situations - No ammo lying everywhere, you actually have to find sensible weaponry or be creative.
- Plans to integrate vehicles, both cars and boats. The boats are probably not going to be controlable, but the cars will be very useful for mowing down the thousands of zombies... and maybe a boss or two.
- Speaking of bosses, there are 9 planned, not to mention all forms of zombification, deer, wolves, circus animals, farm animals, etc., all with realistic zombie AI.
- When I say zombies, I mean what you would percieve them as if you saw them. They're a new type of zombie that actually has some intelligence depending on how fresh of a kill it is. They can sneak, they can strategize, they can hunt you by scent. If that wasn't bad enough, there's also a bit of zombie sense thrown in, and the reason behind that can only be found out by making it to the end.
- Yes, it's multiplayer, but did I mention it also has an end to it?
- When you start off, you can choose either an unlocked role in the game or a random role. Each role plays out depending on where you go from the start of the game. Each role unlocks new weapons or items, and, when you beat the game with them, unlocks their role for your game. This way, if you wish to unlock someone new, you can find them while you play, then play as them next game. This way, the game can always be fresh without needing to be.
- There's only one true way to beat the game and find the secret ending. I'm planning lots of FMV for this!
- Speaking of FMV, special realtime action sequences, involving the 'team' of players, will present a very different and creative way to scare everyone!
Ah, that's quite a bit! But yeah, I think big!
@Andy - On a more personal note, thanks for the interest, it helps to fuel a reason to work harder to get it done. I will keep you posted!

Silent Hill is one of the few I've yet to experience for myself. I'll check it out soon though, now that you've mentioned it.Quote:

@Christopher - no problem - I love the horror genre and I want to see some new ideas come out - sounds like you got something really good there - sort of HP Lovecraft in depth of story and some really novel (excuse the pun) ideas on multiplayer that I've never seen before.

[Background Details]
The name is Thomas Scully Darvelli. I'm the lead artist for the Rough Blood series of Comic Books. I live in the small town of Scarbouro, just outside Maxyne City. I've had a rough life, infact, not even words, no, not even my own artwork, can describe the tremors I've taken in my life. From the day I was born till this past weekend, I've been surrounded by a resounding curse that could only be the devil's work.
I need help. I think I may be next.
I don't expect anyone to believe me, I mean why should they, I've only had to experience each and every member of my family and most of my best friends die off one by one at the hands of misfortunate fate. Nothing I could do. It's terrorizing to say the least. I'm surprised I haven't fell victim myself, I've come so close. In many ways, I hope I would have ceased a long time ago and hadn't been spared to witness the events that have occured.
I believe I've seen Them though.
Nobody will believe me. Not even my parents. I told my dad what I knew I saw when my brother died. My jaw still hurts like hell from when he decked me. It's like I'm the target, and not a soul, not even the three people left in my insignificant life believe me.
I'm going crazy, it's just too much to handle!!
I need help. I need a miracle worker, a bodyguard, a forcefield of protection to surround myself and everyone I have left. But honestly, I doubt even the full force of the military could protect us. The devil behind this is evil indeed.
