Hi all,
I am working on a musical about the siege of the city of Groningen back in 1672 and I thought: maybe it is a cool idea to create a game about this. I really hope this is the right place to ask such things? (I've not been here for many years...)
My input will be the idea and the music (with a real orchestra)
The release should be around January 2011, because then the musical is to be premiered; but the big release I wish to be on august 28th 2011. Because that was the last day of the siege (Groningen wins) then the entire city is celebrating end of this event.
So maybe this will be a great opportunity to work out?
What I expect to get is at least a big amount of exposure.
The synopsis is something like this:
Groningen is under attack by a prince-bishop and his mercenary troops.
They attempt to take over the city in order to control the northern parts of Holland, which all it's harbours.
As they get closer they get weaker and weaker, but they succeed in making as much damage as possible to the city.
It all ends for them on August 28.
Can you, at least, limit the damage as much as possible?
I was thinking of a fairly simple game. The player controls a big canon and a handful of smaller arms gunners.
The enemy hides in trenches which expand to the city during the battle.
Let me know what you think!
