Looking for a programmer / scripter: Paid position

Hi, I am looking for someone who would be willing to lend us their programming expertise in exchange for payment.

I work with a unnamed group of four guys, we have no company title as of yet but we have been working since before the release of Torque 3D on a third-person multi-player shooter game. Without revealing too many details, the game is set in the 17th century, and features class-based player load outs and vehicles. The four of us are primarily artists by nature, with credentials in 3D art with a emphasis in game design, and business management students. Our entire team is 21+ years of age, each of us with a long list of passed projects in the realm of game design. Our team has worked on successful mod projects in the past, and are looking to carry our tried concept into the indie market.

We have struggled for months to teach ourselves the coding / scripting basics of Torque 3D, with little success. Now we have secured a budget and are looking to hire a programmer right now to bring our assets together and create the foundation of the project, and hopefully learn a thing or two along the way. We are very experienced with the engine itself in the last year+ that it's been available, yet still not experienced enough to bring this passed the finish line on our own. We have a great deal of assets completed, at a high level of detail; we strive to compete with the best indie teams out there, and even the pros on some levels.

I apologize if this sounds somewhat elementary, but like I said; we're a group of artists and modders by trade, having turned over successful projects on both Battlefield: 1942 and 2, and on the Source engine. Bear with us, we're an extremely dedicated group of individuals and this is a project very near and dear to each of us.

Some requirements for hiring:

- 2+ years in the Torque programming environment, with avid skill and past projects to be proud of.
- Skills in regards to shooter games specifically, projectiles, hitboxes, spawning systems, etc.
- The ability to communicate effectively and make yourself heard; we're looking to bring someone on for the whole project, so we want to get to know you. This is not a purely contractual agreement, we will listen to your ideas.
- The ability to stay in honest agreement with whatever arrangement we set, with enthusiasm.
- Again; must be adept in all manners of Torque programming. We are looking to pay real money for real talent.

Payment methods are entirely up to negotiation, we will compensate you in which ever way both parties deem acceptable. I stress a high level of communication, for we are honest people and willing to make it work so that you are happy with this project. Contractual agreements aside, there is room to stay on and be a part of the revenue process upon completion. It all depends on what you want and have to offer.

Please email me at workskelton@gmail.com for additional information, and we will take it from there. Please only send us a message if you are serious about reaching an agreement. Thanks a bunch!

We can't thank everyone who replied to our post enough for sharing your time with us. As of now, we have filled the position of game programmer. Again, huge thanks to everyone that we spoke with this passed month.

Should anything change regarding programming needs specifically, I will update this thread.
